How to prevent total data chaos

Emerce, the Dutch magazine on Internet and innovation, has recently published an article on Digital self-determination and Qiy. “If we continue using the internet the way we do now, there will be total data chaos as nobody knows who is doing what with which data”, says writer Yoshi Tuk in the article.

Tuk raises the question of who can solve this problem. “Europe now seeks to improve data security as a fundamental right. In the Netherlands, the non-profit Qiy Foundation is committed to giving back the control over your own data”. With the new European regulations GDPR and PSD2, parties are becoming more susceptible to the idea of digital self-determination for everyone because it helps them to comply with the regulations and helps their clients with data chaos prevention.

The projects that are currently being worked on by Digital Me, based on the Qiy Scheme, are all in line with these regulations. SNS Bank and insurance companies Aegon and Intrasurance are working on concrete solutions that are in line with the Qiy Trust Framework. After the positive outcome of the informal research the Standardisation Forum has carried out on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Internal affairs by VKA, a program is being prepared to give citizens actual control over its own data.
